How long the multi-dose bottle lasts depends on how frequently you use it. Once the eye drops have been opened, they risk being contaminated with the normal bacteria that live on your eyelids. You should also never share eye drops - eye infections can spread this way. LUMIFY Preservative Free, which comes in single-use vials, should be discarded immediately after use.

In clinical trials, the original, preserved formula of LUMIFY was proven safe and well-tolerated. However, some people have a known sensitivity to the preservatives used in eye drops in which case LUMIFY Preservative Free may be a preferable option. Preservatives are commonly used in eye drops to prevent bacterial contamination. Our preservative free formulation comes in convenient single-use vials in order to maintain the sterility of the product.

LUMIFY Preservative Free single-use vials are intended for one-time use only. Each vial is to be used once in each eye during a single session and must be discarded immediately after use, even if there is product left in the vial. Because these eye drops do not contain any preservatives, reusing an opened vial or storing it for later use can increase the risk of bacterial contamination and potentially lead to eye infections. Never share or reuse the vial.

For most users, the single-dose vial will contain a slightly larger volume of product than is needed for both eyes. Because of the vial's small size, we fill it to a specific volume to ensure that each eye receives a full drop as well as to account for any product that may adhere to or remain in the vial.
